What are the benefits for a health system investing in oral care? How important is the link between oral health and general overall health?
Through interviews with accomplished oral health care practitioners, many who volunteered their time in long term care homes, a story emerges of how tending to the neglected oral health care of elderly residents, brings both challenges and positive results.
With street interviews and factual presentation, we see and hear from health practitioners, dentists, families of residents and residents themselves, why an oral health care strategy for individuals in long term care must be embraced in our country and a travesty if it is not.
These findings can set Canada's course towards better, more economical health care and longer, healthier lives.
